HATPro Progress Update – February 2026
Progress update and next steps from the HATPro working group
February 12 & 26, March 26 virtual sessions
The Decentralized Identity Foundation’s Hospitality & Travel Special Interest Group resumes its biweekly Thursday meetings (10am ET) on 12 February 2026. All are welcome.
- Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84452887585?pwd=ZOio7alXPdqNeHVPJGiO8UmyMOu9JO.1
- 10am ET (15:00 UTC)
The next three sessions (Feb 12, Feb 26, March 26) will spotlight progress on HATPro (Hospitality and Travel Profile) — an open standard now being published in stages to our public GitHub.
HATPro already defines 1,000+ structured data points that travellers can share selectively and with permission. The goal: enable suppliers and intermediaries to deliver far deeper personalisation — now amplified by AI — without forcing consumers to maintain fragmented profiles across multiple platforms.
These sessions will:
- Outline how HATPro differs from legacy loyalty profiles and prior open standards
- Address privacy, consent, and security design
- Share practical implementation examples
- Invite contribution — from suggesting a missing data point to helping shape full subschemas (e.g., scuba diving, food tours, activity restrictions and preferences)
HATPro is a living standard, but it is already robust enough for developers to review, pilot, critique, and extend. Feedback from these sessions will shape near-term priorities.
